Introducing the new Game Changer Toggles by Backcountry PPG! These toggles are a creation of 6+ months of development, nearly a dozen prototypes, and a lot of trial and error. We were unsatisfied about the stock toggles that come on most wings and we felt that the toggles were largely an after thought by the manufactures and led to an underwhelming experience when using them.
This led us down the rabbit hole of creating a toggle that we were excited about and that felt like it was better designed for paramotoring. The idea behind the design was to create a smaller, less "sloppy" toggles that gives the pilot more control of their glider with less effort.

Important Update:
Hey everyone, Trevor here, I wanted to give an update on these toggles! Over the last few years we've sold way more of these than I ever expected and I wanted to say thank you for all the support and love for them! Over the last handful of months we have been changing manufactures for a variety of reasons. From price increases, to lead times, and logistics, we made the choice to change the manufacturer. We've made a few small changes, like reinforced stitching, stronger fabrics, etc, to ensure strength is never a question. We also made sure the magnet was "stupid strong" because that matters. In this change we have decided to make them in only one color: black. As time goes on we will likely introduce other colors but we do not plan to anytime soon. We have also placed a large order for them, which helped us bring the prices down.
The 4 Main Benefits:
1 - Smaller Overall Size:
The first thing is the reduced size of them. Unlike most stock toggles, which you could fit your foot through, these are designed to be flown by 2 or 3 fingers only. We went with this size because most paramotor pilots fly with only 2 or 3 fingers while using the throttle with the other fingers. The reduced size makes it easier to manage everything in your hand without weird overlapping or losing things. And yes, these do work with thick winter gloves!
2 - Shorter Distance From Fingers To Brake Line:
The second thing that makes these such a game-changer is that the distance from your finger to the brake line itself is less. This means that your hands don't have to come down nearly as far as before to get the input you desire. This increases overall comfort and precision because pilots will now spend more time applying brakes in their "power range," which is shoulders and above, as opposed to applying brakes shoulders and below. This makes a HUGE difference.
3 - Lower and Upper Holding Position:
The third thing that makes these such a game-changer is that you can grab "up top" or, as some say, you can "choke it" more easily. The space between the brake tie-in and the tip tie-in is designed for your two fingers to grab. This gives you even more control of the wing with less movement of your arms. This is more of a thing for advanced pilots, but it is a great way to get more flare authority and brake range without having to pull further down on your body. THESE ARE A SERIOUS game-changer. In the world of paragliding, it is common that you always fly with a wrap. That is because having the brake line physically in your fingers gives you a totally different feel and more overall control. We can't wrap with the throttle when paramotoring, so you need to be able to hold the toggle right at the brake line for the same feeling, and this does just that.
4 - Strong & Simple Magnet:
The fourth thing that makes these such a game-changer is the magnet. It's simple, easy, and strong. Unlike some toggles, this magnet is easy to attach and detach and won't just fall off. What more to say about them besides they are just great!
2 Finger vs 3 Finger Toggles
2 Finger - The 2 finger game changer toggles are made with a 2.25in main platform and 2.25in internal spacing. The distance from the platform to the brake line is 4 inches.
3 Finger - The 3 finger game changer toggles are made with a 3.25in main platform and 3.25in internal spacing. The upper holding position and tip steering tie in are the same size as before. The distance from the platform to the brake line is 5 inches.
Toggle Strength Test:
The strength of the toggles is extremely important to us, and we know the toggles can be under high stress over a long period of time and it would be very dangerous if they were prone to breaking. As a result we have worked hard to ensure their overall strength far exceeds the strength of other components, like the brake lines. During our strength tests, which you can see photos of below, we broke the brake line long before any damage or signs of wear and tear appeared on the toggle itself. These toggles have been strength tested to thousands of pounds and since the itital release of them we've added additional reinforcements to them.
Photo below explanation: During our develeopment phase of the toggle I made it extremely clear to the manufacture of the toggle that strength was a huge priority. Once we fianlized the rought design we sat down to strength test the toggle and see where the possible failure points could be. During this test we were not able to actually damage or break the toggle, because we kept breaking the brake line instead. Even still, we added additional reinforcements to the toggle to ensure there was as close to zero risk of the toggles breaking as possible. The photo on the left is showing the toggle under stress / loading before the brake line broke, and the photo on the right is after the brake line broke. The toggle experienced zero damage in these tests.
I got both the 2&3 finger toggles thinking while using gloves during the winter the bigger ones would fit gloved fingers comfortably.

I think the “3 finger” toggles could fit my fist, they big. I also prefer the magnets on my two finger toggles.

I highly recommend this product! Makes a huge difference in control feeling, and takes the slack out of the brakes during maneuvers. More positive brake feel during landings as well, without actually shortening brake line length.

Stock Ozone toggles are so large and bulky where these are slim and give you the control you need without any extra squish/flex in the toggle.
I was worried about winter flights with bulky gloves but i tested and i'll still be able to use them inside and ontop.
For quick reactions i noticed grabbing the top of the toggles is nice and easy. Combined with the magnet style and no slider track i don't have to think about stowing my toggles anymore.
I was at the point of thinking about shortening my toggle lines however just installing these with the original length reduced ~3 inches of travel and i no longer feel i need to do that now.
I know Ozone put the slider type toggles in there for safety however i had several launches where the toggle would deform and i could not get the magnet and slider to stow properly which actually made an unsafe situation. Where these basic and strong magnets stow easily and no room for toggle deforming. 120% would recommend!

These are quality toggle’s. I love the separate connection points and the fact that it’s not an ozone toggle lol. Those toggles are all right, but they give me the tendency of looping my right hand in the toggle, making it so the lengths differ on the break line. That forces me to compensate and not use tip steer on my left side for wingovers in the same way. These toggles eradicate that issue. Also, the fact that these toggles are stiff and don’t stretch as you’re pulling. This has always annoyed me with ozone toggles. I would for sure by these again for any Paramotor wing in the future. This is the Way to go.

I tried out my new Game Changer toggles tonight on a Spyder 3. I have not tied in the tip steering yet. I liked the feel of the toggles over the stock toggles. The stock toggles just seem a bit big. My landing seemed like I had a bit bore flare. I think because of the difference in size as compared to the stock toggles.

Finally got a chance to fly these toggles yesterday. Immediately I noticed how my wing felt slightly more aggressive simply because these toggles have no stretch. So when you pull one 5 inches it pulls the brake line 5 inches instead of pull 5 and and getting 2 inchs of stretch and only 3 inches of brake.
I've been flying 2 fingers for awhile now with my stock ozone toggles. Longer flights my fingers were getting sore for being squeezed together when I pull hard. The stiff structure of these prevent that and keeps me comfortable no matter how hard I pull.
I ended up tying them half way between the stock point and where I had shortened yhe stock toggles to. This still felt a bit high especially when I trimmed out, so I'm going to change them to the stock mounting location and see how that goes.
Great Toggles can't wait to get more flights on them.

I love the Game Changer toggles. They are so much safer to use than the stock Ozone ones, since they fit right on the fingers and let you control the throttle safely.
No sponginess, it's a direct connection to the wing and gives a great feel.

These toggles are awesome! Ozone’s toggles are massive and get in the way of the throttle especially when taking off. These are compact and are exactly what I’m looking for.

Quick shipping and communication! Game changer toggles are just what I needed . Great feel and comfortable in hands.

I have been on an Ozone Spyder 3 for a little over two years. Love the wing, but wanted a little bit more out of it before buying another wing. I switched back and forth a couple of times between the stock tip-steering configuration and tying in the 2D steering using the factory toggles, but it still felt mushy (lacked feedback). Tried the “game-changer toggles”. I really like;
- Better “feedback”/ feel more connected and can actively pilot better.
- More authority in the brakes and tip lines (even when you keep the stock length).
- Multiple grip options which allow for more precise steering.
- Toggles interfere less with the throttle hand. Feels more integrated and positive grip. Easier to transition between stowed brakes/active flying.
- Magnets are strong and stow easier.

Solid toggles. Highly recommend before buying a new wing- feels like a small performance mod. Helps that Trevor has some of the best costumer service around. He responded extremely fast and seemed happy to do so. Awesome dealing with passionate kind dudes like him. A+

When changing glider brands to Ozone, I was appalled at the chintzy, sloppy, toggles that came with a brand new glider. The magnets were always a pain to keep tight so that they would come disconnected from the riser, clean and smooth. As soon as I learned about the Game Changer toggles, I was sold on the idea. It was truly “LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT!” I have now installed on all of my gliders except for one which will be done as soon as I get some extra cash on hand!

The new magnets are plenty strong enough. Coming from a Dudek wing and their (Easy Keeper) seems very intuitive. The toggle feel great in your hand. The feel while holding the throttle without all that extra toggle overlapping is actually quite comfortable. The smaller distance from line to toggle is great as well.

These toggles look great. 3 bare fingers easily fit this so 2 gloved fingers will fit when the time comes. Needed to shorten my brake lines. With the same tie-in point, the Game Changer toggles shortened them 2 inches from stock. Magnets pick up a just over 1.5 inches and are strong enough that they should not freely release in flight without being manipulated to do so. Toggles look well made and should last. Great design!!

One of the best mods I've done to date!
Michael M.5/5Verified
Very pleased with these toggles. I can't understand why wings with 2D steering don't come with something like this from the factory in the first place. I think perhaps the manufacturers want a really large toggle for safety of not going through the netting perhaps? The quality is excellent. Trevor did a great job with these. I have recommended to friends. They are so good that I have decided to hold off on stepping up from my Apco F3 (my second wing) for a while since the feel is more dynamic.

I bought a pair of these to replace the large toggles on my Viper XC and these are a HUGE improvement over the stock toggles! No need to take a wrap to land. These are well made and look very nice. If you didn’t know any better you’d think these were a factory option. 😎

I think these little things are sweet! I only have brakes tied in because I’m still new to the sport but I’m very excited to tie in tip steering when I’m ready. Easy install, they look good, very sturdy, great magnets. I did notice a slight issue on install, the Velcro receiving side would slide down the riser when I pulled the toggles off so I did put a dab of hot glue on the backside then velcro’d them on and it worked great. All in all I recommend these to anyone who is looking to get rid of the sloppiness of the big loop toggles. Buy a set!

Right off the bat, these toggles felt different. I could feel a big difference in my handling of my glider. I love these things. These are a must for any Paramotor pilot.
Carlos D.5/5Verified
Such an improvement from the huge stock toggles.
Carson K.5/5Verified
As advertised! Put on my ITV Piper. All around great improvement. Brakes stow quicker, eaiser, better wing feedback/feel, less entanglemt during ground handling. No issue re-aquiring stowed brakes in-flight.
Yes, I like them 👍.
Philippe L.5/5Verified
I love the feedback from the wing I get through these toggles! They feel REALLY solid and fit two-fingers with gloves, or three fingers without gloves. Zero slop or squish as you control the wing.
The magnets need to be a bit stronger for my taste, but they're still better than the stock Ozone toggles by a mile and a half.
Caleb J.5/5Verified
Very well made and worth the price. Thanks again Trevor.

They look and feel great ! Well done

I fly PG & PPG I take a wrap for paragliding and not for power paragliding with Ozone wings.
For PPG this are came changer for sure you have more input from the wing and a lot more flair on landing.
I have the three fingers and considering two finger.
Great product with great fast service. 💪👍👌

Nothing to add right now. Prolly won't get around to using these until the spring. I'll write a good review then.
Scott Z.5/5Verified
The toggles came right away and are the perfect size and easy to install. Super good experience. Thanks Backcountry!

They look great!! Looking forward to adding them to my risers.
Paul H.5/5Verified
I have both the 2 and 3 finger versions and I'm more partial to the 3 finger version. Especially during winter with gloves.
Justin S.5/5Verified
Can say enough about Backcountry Ppg from the quality of the product, to the dedication to the customer of the people. Always a great experience an always happy to support!
James R.5/5Verified
I have not put mine on yet but I have flown a wing with the new 2 finger version and they were fantastic. Quality seems great and the magnets are a big improvement!
Nicholas Y.5/5Verified
Have not had time to install them yet but they look great and the build quality looks great -
I’m excited to get them up & flying as soon as I can.
Jeff S.5/5Verified
Well done! Now I don’t have a weird looking setup with my tip steering toggle as my main brake, with TS tied in on my throttle hand. These toggles really take up the slack.
Jason A.5/5Verified
These fit exactly how I want toggles to fit. I should've ordered more for my other wings. The magnets are strong, and easy to stow. Very easy to swap from stock ones. Like with any toggle change... mark your tie point before untieing to avoid making unnecessary adjustments. Lastly... like always... kite before you fly to make sure you didn't goof up your brake lengths.
Justin S.5/5Verified
Very comfortable and smooth! Easier to hold the throttle and brake toggle now. Also, takes some of the extra slack out of the brake line due to the shorter profile of the Game Changer toggle.
Very nice upgrade!
Terry T.5/5Verified
As a new pilot, I really struggled keeping large brake toggles in my throttle hand. The smaller toggles helped with my throttle hand holding the toggles while taking off. I feel I have much better throttle modulation with the Game Changer toggles. I also didn't have magnets on my risers, so stowing the brakes is so, so much easier than trying to button them down.
Mike S.5/5Verified
Love the toggles. It’s exactly what I needed. Thanks!
